A man was stabbed in Bolton early yesterday morning, Thursday.
The attack took place on Cannon Street in Daubhill at around 5.30am in which the victim suffered injuries not thought to be "life-threatening".
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and is still being questioned by Greater Manchester Police.
The mother of the victim, Lorraine Williams, spoke about the attack on her son.
She said: "I felt you need to know about the crime, and how high knife crime is lately and the seriousness of the crime.
"People need to be aware of what happens in the areas around them."
A force spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police are investigating an assault where a knife was used that took place on Cannon Street in Bolton at around 5.30am on Thursday, September 7.
"Injuries sustained by the victim are believed not to be life-threatening who is still receiving medical treatment.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning.
"Anyone with information of the incident that may help officers with their enquiries are asked to call 101 quoting incident 609 of 07/09/2023."
