Two men were arrested after driving on the wrong side of a motorway in a bid to escape police.

They were pursued in a Seat by police down the M60 on the afternoon of Monday September 4.

The chase began after police began covertly following a car which they suspected was displaying cloned registration plates and officers were eventually able to bring the car to a stop after it was driven onto the motorway.

Inspector Daniel Kabal, from Greater Manchester Police’s Specialist Operations Branch said: “Our officers acted quickly and decisively to bring this pursuit to a stop to protect the public.

“The actions of the vehicle were extremely dangerous and could have had fatal consequences.
