The closure date of a Bolton Morrisons is set in stone with a number of workers at risk of redundancy.
The supermarket said the loss of its store on Bury Road is because its performance is not "sustainable".
Around a month ago, at the time of the announcement of plans to close the store, there was no closure date and no information about the impact on the staff.
But the Bolton News understands this is set in stone for September 17 with a number of workers at risk of redundancy as a result.
A spokesperson for the supermarket said: "Regrettably, the closure means some jobs are at risk.
"We are doing all we can to help the colleagues who are affected and hope to find them alternative opportunities within Morrisons."
Morrisons opened on the site in 2011 weeks after Morrisons bought the former Netto mini-market, securing 52 jobs.
The news came as a shock to shoppers and local councillors.
Previously the spokesperson said: "Following a review of the store's operation, unfortunately we do not believe performance is sustainable and we are therefore announcing we have made the difficult decision to close the store. We are endeavouring to communicate and to execute these changes carefully and thoughtfully with all those affected.
"We would like to welcome customers in the area to continue shopping with us at our Blackhorse Street store or via Morrisons.com."
When Sean Fielding, a councillor for Breightmet Ward, became aware of the loss of the store he asked Bolton Council to look into support for staff.
Emails seen by the Bolton News suggest this support for staff is now in place, a fact confirmed by the councillor in a newsletter to residents this week.
Cllr Fielding said: "Following our requests, the Bolton at Home Enterprise and Employment Team and the Breightmet UCAN centre are providing support to those staff at risk of redundancy.
"The initial support is one-to-one assessments of the best way to support those who need it.
"From next week (w/c September 4) tailored support will be based on these assessments.
"We wish everybody well in finding alternative employment where necessary. We will keep residents updated as to the future of the building."
Home Bargains is not affected.
