An eight-year-old boy who alerted emergency services after his dad collapsed with a potentially life-threatening illness, has raised a brilliant amount of money for the NHS.
Charlie Daly appeared in The Bolton News earlier this month, sharing the date of his upcoming lemonade stand to raise money for the NHS as well as his holiday.
And now, Charlie, who lives with his family in Westhoughton, is celebrating after raising £95 in total, donating £50 to nurses and doctors at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
The young boy decided to raise the funds as a big thank you to the hospital for treating his dad, David.
David, 37, collapsed from a DKA - Diabetic ketoacidosis, which is known as a serious complication of diabetes that can be life-threatening.
It happened on April 3 and Charlie, who has autism and ADHD, sprang into action.
And not only did Charlie call the ambulance service but called his auntie too to pick him up and the dog.
From 11am to 1pm on August 26 Charlie sold lemonade and sweets at a stall inside Westhoughton Market to raise money for the NHS at the same time as raising some funds for his holiday.

David said: “The stall turned out to be really good, but it was raining really bad, so we couldn’t do it outside, so we had to it inside instead.
“And a lot of people just drove past thinking we were outside as that was the original plan which was a shame, but it turned out really well and he raised £95 just from selling lemonade, some sweets and cartons of pop.”
After the success the father and son decided to head down to the hospital to drop the money off on August 29, at ward D2 which is the Medical Assessment Unit.
David said: “The hospital were over the moon, really happy, I am just really proud of him, really proud, couldn’t be any prouder.”
