A driver was arrested after being found with cannabis at a well-loved beauty spot.
Police noticed a car parked at Doffcocker Lodge while on patrol on Tuesday night.
The officers, from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team, then stopped the driver before he was able to leave.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “The driver tried to leave the car park, until he was stopped by officers.
“Both the driver and vehicle were searched under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act and cannabis was found inside the vehicle.
“The driver also tested positive for cannabis on a roadside drugs test and was therefore arrested.”
An image supplied by officers shows a car stopped in a dark area of the Doffcocker Lodge car park area, with a police car just behind.
This comes amid recurring concerns about drugs across Bolton and further afield across Greater Manchester.
