Rail passengers are being warned over limited services operating on Northern tomorrow (Saturday August 26).

It comes as industrial action was announced by ASLEF and the Rail, Maritime and Transport union over a long-running dispute over pay, jobs, and conditions.

The strikes will take place on Saturday August 26, Friday September 1, and Saturday September 2.

According to the National Rail website, when selecting tomorrow’s date leaving from Bolton, “there are no outbound journeys available”.

On the day following a strike, there will also be some later starts to train services.

A small number of routes will have a very limited train service on Saturday August 26 and Saturday 2 September

No Northern services will operate on Friday, September 1.

On routes where trains are running, they will operate between approximately 8am and 5pm, and are expected to be busy.

Many Northern stations will have no train services and may be closed.

Where other train operators run, it is best to check to see whether trains are running before travelling.

Advanced tickets have been withdrawn from sale for strike days.

There will be no replacement buses on strike days.

There are several events taking place across the network, and it has been advised not to travel by train during strikes.

On days of limited services, last trains will be around 5pm and are expected to be extremely busy.
