A Farnworth pupil with high functioning autism said he is "proud" of his GCSE results despite the challenges he has faced throughout school.
Isaac Cradden, who has attended St James’s CE High School, is overjoyed after achieving five grade nines, three grade eights, one grade seven and one grade six.
He is now hoping to have a long career as an author.
Isaac said: “I feel so proud of my grades, I have put loads of work in since September and I’ve been working really hard every night and I am just proud of what I have done to get these results.
“I am surprised with my grades, I did better in a lot of subjects than I thought I would do, I thought I would do a little bit better in English literature, but it was a tough paper, and everyone said it was a tough paper.
“I will be going onto Bolton Sixth Form because I liked the small atmosphere, the smaller classes and the support system and I will be studying A levels in English language, psychology and computer science.
“These have been some of my favourite subjects going through high school and English language especially as I am hoping to start writing my own novel and psychology because I have always been interested in how the mind works.”
When asked if he has faced any challenges along the way at school, Isaac said: “I have had a lot of problems with stress because I have been dealing with high functioning autism for a while now, so I’ve had to deal with loud classrooms and the other students and the threat of exams but thanks to the support system at school its helped me to get through everything easier and from the help of my parents.”
Isaac said he has multiple career aspirations after he has completed education.
He said: “After college I am hoping to go to university but in the long term, I am hoping to become an author, I’m still deciding between that and being a programmer, but I am leaning more towards being an author.
“I would like to write fiction for adults or young adults, I have read since I was a small child and I have always wanted to write my own books.
“I would love to pursue a long-term career as an author and see where it takes me.”
