A Bolton museum will be showing the town's industrial might from yesteryear this bank holiday.
Bolton Steam Museum are holding its "Summer Steamings" through the bank holiday weekend, where they will be showcasing the static steam engines that used to power the borough.
Located on Mornington Road in Heaton, with free unlimited parking available at the nearby Morrisons, the museum will be holding the events on Sunday, August 27 and Monday, August 28 from 10am to 4pm.
Entry to the event is free.
The museum, which is a charity run by volunteers, has rescued and restored 30 old stationary steam engines, which once powered the cotton and woollen mills of the North of England.
Their oldest engine is more than 180 years old, and most are well over 100 years old.
