Residents have spoken of their concerns after a crash in the early hours of the morning.
Emergency services said the car crashed into the lamppost with railings left badly damaged in the collision.
People living in Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, were woken up at around 1am last Wednesday after hearing the crash.
They found a car had gone into railings outside a property and caused significant damage.
Emergency services were alerted and there for several hours.
The incident took place nearby to a fatal crash on the same road earlier this year.
Although the cause of this crash is not known, residents have again expressed further concerns about the road - with one neighbour saying it is only a matter of time before there is another accident.
Bridget Wright, who lives in one of the properties behind the railings which the car collided with, said: "I woke up and heard a woman knocking on our doors and then just saw the car in the railings with all the emergency services outside.
"There was the other crash where a woman died, it was a few hundred yards down the road.
"I am concerned, if that railing wasn’t there I don’t want to think what could have happened.
"Too many cars speed up and down the road and it’s only a matter of time before it happens again. I’ve often thought it would happen right outside my window and now it has."
Another resident who lives opposite the scene of the crash said: "It is a shock to see this.
"One of my neighbours called the ambulance after it happened."
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At around 1am on Wednesday, 23rd August, firefighters were called to assist at a crash on Darwen Road in Bromley Cross, Bolton.
“One fire engine from Bolton North fire station quickly attended the scene. The crash involved a car which had collided with a lamppost, with one casualty who had removed himself from the car before firefighters arrived.
“Crews worked with Greater Manchester Police to make the scene safe and were in attendance for around half an hour.”
