Police in Bolton have seized a large number of illegal cigarettes found while looking for a wanted man.

Officers fom the Bolton Action Team entered a property on Chorley Old Road.

They searched the house looking for a wanted man and came across a large amount of illegal cigarettes.

These were then seized by officers. 

Illegal cigarettes have been found in previous police operations in Bolton this year.

The UK's largest Trading Standards tobacco seizure, worth £4million, took place in July.

Bolton Council and police in the town attended a lock-up in the town ater a tip off.

The goods were packaged up outside the town hall before they were taken away to be destroyed.

The recovered included 28 boxes of raw tobacco which was destined for illegal manufacture.

And in March this year convenience stores in Farnworth and Kearsley were raided and police found what was beleived to be illegal e-cigarettes, counterfeit tobacco and sparklers.
