David, 37 collapsed from a DKA - Diabetic ketoacidosis.

Speaking about his son’s bravery and stall, David said: “Charlie will set up his lemonade and sweet stand at Westhoughton Market this Saturday.
“At first Charlie wanted to do something to try and earn some money for his holidays and so he did a stand outside the house, and he made quite a bit of money from it.
“And after he had done it, Westhoughton Market got in touch asking if Charlie wanted to do one outside there.
“I went into a DKA, I don’t know what it is, but it is something to do with diabetes and Charlie rang the ambulance for me and now he wants to raise half of the money to the NHS at Bolton Hospital and half for his holidays, we are going to Fleetwood Haven caravan park.
“Charlie rang the ambulance and told them what was happening, and the ambulance came out within five minutes and then he rang my sister as well to come and get him and the dog.
“I am so proud of him and how well and calm he stayed; I didn’t know how he would handle it, but he did brilliant.
“I just think he is brilliant; he is lovely and now he will be hosting a stand at Westhoughton Market between 11am and 1pm.”
