A man was arrested in an elderly woman’s back garden after reports of a burglary.
Police had heard reports a suspected burglary in the Hall i’ th’ Wood area last night, Saturday, August 19.
They say that they then arrested a man within minutes.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have this evening responded to reports of an attempted burglary in the area of Hall i’ th’ Wood.
“Within minutes of the report being made by an elderly female, officers detained a male in the back garden of the address.
“The male was arrested and is now in police custody.”
As yet no further details have been released about where in the Hall i’ th’ Wood area the burglary is believed to have taken place or about the man who has now been arrested.

But this comes amid recurring concerns about burglary all across the Bolton area and further afield in the Greater Manchester city region.
Officers have appealed for anyone with any information or any other concerns to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
