People been urged to be vigilant after reports from thefts of cars along a road in Bolton.

This comes after reports from Greater Manchester Police about people stealing from cars on Temple Road in the Halliwell area.

Now Cllr Kevin Morris, who represents the area on the council, has advised car owners to remain alert while officers investigate.

He said: "With reports from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team that residents around the Temple Road area of the ward have had items stolen from vehicles I would reiterate to all residents to make sure all their vehicles are secure and locked and remember not to leave any personal valuables on display.

“It only takes a few seconds for a vehicle to be targeted and this can be a very upsetting and traumatic experience for a person.

“The team have issued Crime Prevention Advice information and this offers good general advice for all drivers to look at how to reduce the chances of a vehicle being targeted, it is worth taking a look at.
