Stunning pictures captured the moment the famous Red Arrows flew over Bolton today.
Chris Hoddle captured the squadron flying over Smithills, with people seeing seeing the flight team over Smithills and Ainsworth.
The Red Arrows flew over the borough en route to the Blackpool Air Show.
The RAF's Red Arrows team is known for its distinctive diamond nine formation, and has been displaying since 1965.
Chris Hoddle took these pictures of The Red Arrows in the sky over Smithills.
He said: "They flew over very quickly and over Smithills and only about 10-20seconds going to Rochdale and then the route back down.
"The weather was not good, you can tell the clouds are grey but someone might enjoy looking at the Red Arrows.
"I saw them last year flying over this time last year and they did the same type of trip and I was at Colliers Row and they were going to the show.
"It is always very nice and gives you a bit of thrill."
The Royal Air Force's Red Arrows team is one of the world most outstanding aerobatic display teams and is the public face of the RAF - showcasing its speed, agility and precision.
One person said: "I was lucky enough to the see The Red Arrows fly above Smithills Hall, they absolutely take your breath away."
