A man who was arrested after a suspected road rage incident has been released "pending further enquiries".
Last week, at around 2.50pm on Tuesday, August 1, police were called to Tonge Moor Road to reports of a "disturbance".
Officers were told that following a crash a man got out of his vehicle and assaulted another man.
One man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
Last week, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 2.50pm on Tuesday, August 1, officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Tonge Moor Road in Bolton.
“Emergency services attended the scene, and a man was found with head injuries. He has since been taken to hospital to receive further treatment.
“Initial enquiries suggest that shortly after a road traffic collision, the suspect got out of their vehicle and assaulted another man.
“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of section 18 assault (grievous bodily harm) and has been taken to custody for further questioning."
A police cordon was in place for some time and nearby shop workers said an ambulance and two police vans were in attendance.
Yesterday, Wednesday, police have confirmed that the man who was arrested has been released "pending further enquiries".
