A ‘body has been recovered’ from a river in Bolton town centre today.
The Bolton News understands that firefighters were called to assist Greater Manchester Police during an incident on Water Street, Bolton.
A fire crew from Bolton North arrived on scene and fire services were in attendance for around 90 minutes.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Services said: “At approximately 4.45pm on Monday, August 7, firefighters were called to assist Greater Manchester Police at an incident on Water Street in Bolton.
“One fire engine from Bolton North quickly attended the scene.
“Fire crews were in attendance for around 90 minutes.”
Police have been approached for further information.
