Police have warned residents to be vigilant after a spate of recent flagstone thefts in an area of Bolton.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers from Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have warned of Yorkstone paving flags having been stolen from the Halliwell area in recent weeks.
Thefts have occurred on Astley Street, Norton Street, St Augustine Street, Cloister Street and Wilmot Street.
Yorkstone is a variety of sandstone, which is often used for paving slabs.
A GMP spokesperson said: "In recent weeks, we have received reports that Yorkstone paving flags have been stolen around the Crompton area. The locations targeted include Astley Street, Norton Street, St Augustine Street, Cloister Street & Wilmot Street.
"Officers are making enquiries to identify those responsible and take action. If you have Yorkshire paving flags, please remain vigilant.
"If you have CCTV at your property, ensure your system is working and saving recordings. If your paving flags are within your garden and you have a garden gate, ensure this is locked.
"Yorkshire paving flags can be extremely heavy, so by ensuring your gate is locked, it will hopefully deter any thieves."
The Bolton North Neighbourhood Team asks anyone with information about the thefts or who has captured "anything suspicious" on their CCTV to contact them on 0161 856 5761 or boltonnorth@gmp.police.uk.
