The perfect Espresso Martini can be found right here in Bolton - with the producer and supplier of pre-mix cocktails toasting  success in The Great Taste Awards.

Cocktails at Home was awarded two stars, meaning 'outstanding', for its Espresso Martini when the results were announced on August 1.

Based in Farnworth, the producer and supplier of pre-mix cocktails was set up by bartender George Greenhalgh in the midst of the pandemic.

Alongside another bartender, Zac Marshall, who he met whilst working at The Hawthorns, he started selling these cocktails via a website and supplying them to bars and restaurants as well as events and festivals.

In 2022, the pair were awarded one star for their Pornstar Martini and this year, they were awarded two stars for their Espresso Martini – an accolade achieved by less than 10 per cent of the entries to the awards.

The Bolton News: George Greenhalgh

George said: "We were hoping for one star because we got one star last year. I was happy when we got two stars because I wasn't expecting it.

"It's good to be able to say we're multi-award-winning."

Cocktails at Home was commended by the judges for the strength of its all-branded spirits.

George said: "We don't cut corners on anything at all.

"We use all-branded spirits and we don't use any of the imitations you get in a lot of pre-mix cocktails to keep the cost down. We use the real stuff."

The Bolton News: They won for their Espresso Martini

John Farrand, managing director of The Guild of Fine Food, said: "Congratulations to the producers who have been awarded Great Taste stars with their outstanding food and drink.

"Every year, we welcome new and established producers making fantastic products around the world and this year has been no exception. The breadth and quality of food and drink has been outstanding and we wish everyone who entered huge success and hope they find the feedback from our expert judging panel beneficial as they continue in their onward journey."
