Health care leaders in Bolton are looking for talented and experienced people to help them shape the borough’s services.

The two successful candidates will become non-executive directors and Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

Once in place they will work to help the trust’s board of directors set aims and hold its top team accountable for delivering them.

Board of directors chair Dr Niruban Ratnarajah said: “This is a really great opportunity for people who want to make a positive difference to the lives of people in Bolton.

“It’s an exciting time to join us as we continue to progress our integration journey, moving into a new era for healthcare provision to provide more joined up care for patients across community and hospital services and with our system partners.

“I look forward to seeing some fantastic applications and welcoming in two talented individuals to our trust.”

Candidates interested in putting themselves forward will have to be experienced and show skills in at least one of two areas.

Either they must have experience in a human resources role, developing skills in a work force or organisational capacity in a board level role.

Or they must have developed their skills in medical or clinical leadership with board level experience built up in a medical, nursing, or other clinical role.

Anyone interested in applying must be able to commit three to four days a month to their role.

Once appointed to their new roles, the non-executive directors will then join the five other non-executive directors on the board at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

They will share responsibility with the other directors for the decisions made by the board and for the success of the organisation in leading the improvement of Bolton based healthcare services.

A Bolton NHS Foundation Trust statement said: “As a suitable candidate you will be comfortable operating at board level, have strong strategic leadership skills and a track record of leading transformational change within a politically charged environment.

“Most importantly, you will share and role model the values of the trust.”

Applications can be made on Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s website and will be open until September 3.
