The future of two town centre stores remains uncertain as closing down signs have gone up on a shop.
Closing down notices have been posted on the widows of fashion retailer Select based in Crompton Place Shopping Centre - while Boots head office has declined to confirm whether any of its stores in Bolton town centre will close.
Signs posted on Select state: “Crazy offers.
“This store is closing down.
“Please visit your nearest store or shop online at www.selectfashion.co.uk.
“Subject to landlord negotiations.”
The fashion brand has been repeatedly contacted for more information, and staff say they are unsure of what will happen next.
This is the only Select store in Bolton and there have been no further plans revealed to open another store.
It is not clear what negiogiations on the posters mean.
But Crompton Place Shopping Centre is earmarked for demolition as part of the town centre masterplan to regenerate the town.
The Bolton News reported yesterday that Wilko is to call in the adminstrators which has put the town centre store under threat.
It comes as the multi-million-pound redevelopment plans for Crompton Place are set to start in 2024 at the earliest, which would see the shopping centre demolished to create a new state of the art retail and leisure destination stating.
A number of businesses have moved out of Crompton Place The Market Place Centre, including New Look, and Warren James, with plans also announced for Primark to move in there too.
Negotiations continue to relocate the remaining businesses.
Boots recently announced it is to shut 300 stores will be closing across the country in the next year.
The store previously said that there were no “proposed redundancies” and that “all impacted team members will be offered redeployment”.

A spokesperson for Boots said: “We aren’t releasing details of affected stores, but will communicate with individual stores, team members and customers directly.”
There are three Boots stores in Bolton town centre in Crompton Place, Trinity Street, Market Place and one in Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Centre.
Under the criteria put forward by Boot, stores likely to be affected are those are within five kilometres of another, with 82 per cent of people within the UK remaining within a 10-minute drive of a Boots store following this.
