A woman has been charged after a “quick overnight arrest” following reports of a burglary earlier this week.
The burglary reportedly happened on Monday August 2 in the Deane area of Bolton.
Gaynor Crompton, 51, was arrested over the following night and has now been charged with a single count of burglary.
Detective Sergeant Carla Deighton of Bolton's Neighbourhood Priority Crime Team said: "As a force-priority issue, we work quickly to investigate burglaries.
“I hope that this quick overnight arrest and charge shows that we take reports of burglaries very seriously."
Crompton, of Eldercot Road, was remanded in custody ahead of appearing at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court.
This comes amid ongoing efforts by police to respond to burglaries more quickly and with greater effect across the city region as a whole and the Bolton area in particular.
The topic has frequently been brought up at Partner and Community Together meetings around the borough where the public have met with police officers.
Officers have urged any members of the public who have any information or who are concerned about burglaries to call them on 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
