A road in Deane which is used by motorists to travel between Wigan Road and St Helens Road is set to be closed whilst works are ongoing.
Deane Church Lane will be closed from August 14 for approximately two weeks whilst resurfacing works are taking place.
The road closure will prohibit all traffic from proceeding on Deane Church Lane from St Helens Road to Wigan Road.
An alternate route for traffic will be via Hulton Lane.

To ensure recycling bins are emptied during the works, the council is asking residents to present them at the nearest accessible point to ensure that they can be emptied on the usual collection days.
The local authority say they want to apologise for any inconvenience the closure may cause.
