Lancashire will face a Twenty20 Cup trip London where they will play Middlesex in the quarter finals at the Oval.
The Red Rose county were denied a home draw after last night's final North Division game ended in a no result at the Riverside.
And they now have to travel down to the capital to pit their wits against the winners of the South Division in the week beginning Monday July 7.
Middlesex are unable to play their game at their usual Lord's home because England's Test match against South Africa is being played there.
Captain Stuart Law said: "They are a good one-day side, a good Twenty20 side. They were almost unbeaten in the group stages.
"They have got a couple of shrewd signings, guys born for Twenty20 cricket. People like Dirk Nannes, who has won the last the Twenty20's at home with Victoria, and Kartik Murali."
Despite the no result up in the North East last night, due to bad light and rain, at least there was enough time for Andrew Flintoff to claim the Red Rose county's best ever Twenty20 bowling figures.
The big all-rounder nipped in with 4-12 from his two overs in a match that was eventually reduced to ten overs per side until bad light later ended proceedings for good.
Durham reached 77-7 from their ten overs. Lancashire were struggling at 8-2 when the elements had the deciding say.
Law added that the club are no nearer to knowing what the situation is with the availability of overseas batsman Brad Hodge.
Tom Smith has gone on loan to Leicestershire for a month.
