Police have been granted extra powers to stop and search people after a late fight involving weapons broke out.
The powers, which are in place until tonight (July 29), grant officers temporary extended powers to stop and search individuals within the area.
The Section 60 authority has been introduced following reports of a group of men fighting with weapons in the area of Park Hills Road in Bury.
Police have not confirmed the ages of those involved.
One man was injured and attended hospital however he has since been discharged.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody for questioning.
Extra patrols have been deployed and will remain in place through the day and into the evening to provide a visible policing presence and to provide reassurance.
The Section 60 powers come under the 1994 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act and will run for 24 hours.
It began at 9.40pm yesterday evening (July 28) and is due to end at 9.40pm today (July 29).
