Bolton Pride is underway – and it is set to be bigger and better than ever.
A launch party is taking place in Victoria Square in the town centre with live entertainment until 11pm.
The highly anticipated festival will run over three days.
There will be live music, entertainment, and stalls throughout the town over the weekend.
One of the organisers Kev Wright said: “We want to continue spreading the awareness, so people realise we are normal people and that there is nothing to be scared of.
“It is fun, and it is peaceful, and a family event.

“I am excited about the communities enjoying it, with all the work that has gone into it.
“It is the biggest yet, and it has been extended to 11pm, with 21 hours of back-to-back music.”
Rainbow colours will light up Bolton Town Hall, where an even bigger stage than last year is set up.
There will be a VIP zone for the first time, and a quiet area in the museum at Le Mans Crescent.
Taylors Theatre Academy will be the opening act alongside tribute acts including Making It Madonna, Absolute Britney, Keith George (Boy George tribute), Kelly Wild and more.
The parade will take place today starting at around 10.45 am.
Those taking part will meet at The Sward Building (University of Bolton) opposite The Chancellor’s Building.
The parade will walk on to College Way towards McDonald’s, continue down Trinity Street, past Sainsbury’s on the right and Morrison’s on the left, past the train station up to Bradshawgate.
At Bradshawgate the parade will travel past Primark and up to Deansgate and continue through the area.
There will also be vehicles that will go off to the right after Wilko, and pedestrians in the parade will continue down the pedestrianised Deansgate up to Market Street.
The parade will then turn right onto Hotel Street and reach its end point in Victoria Square where the opening ceremony and entertainment will begin.
Tomorrow there will be a family fun day with Pride organisers working closely with Bolton Wanderers in the Community.
