The picturesque hills of Rivington Terraced Gardens are set to come alive this week to the sound of the amazing Hallé Orchestra.
A brass ensemble from the world-renowned orchestra will perform a summer evening of music for the whole family to enjoy on Friday, July 28 from 6.15pm to 9.30pm in the "Hallé on The Hill" event.
The Hallé’s Brass section will delight the audience with a varied programme of music ranging from opera and jazz to famous tunes from the stage, screen, and the charts.
With food and refreshments available, plus on-site bars, organisers say the event promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Groundwork conservation and engagement coordinator Briony Jolley said: “We are really excited to welcome the Hallé Orchestra to Rivington.
“The gardens provide the perfect summer setting for people and families to experience and enjoy great music together.”
Trustee of Rivington Heritage Trust, Richard Galloway said: “We have been very fortunate to get the world famous Hallé Orchestra to agree to perform for us "Up on the Hill".
“This is a major event - and a crucial fundraiser for the charity - this year and builds on the success of the BBC Philharmonic last year.
“It will be a truly amazing evening, so we’d love everyone to come and enjoy this unique event and help support the Gardens."
Tickets for "Hallé on The Hill" are available from the Rivington Terraced Gardens website and priced from £13.50 to £23.50, with free entry for under 5s.
