A teenage contestant on a national television talent show from Bolton has spoken of his experience on the show.
Will Edgar, 15, took part in this year's The Voice Kids, making it through to the final before he narrowly missed out on winning.
Will, from Bradshaw, discovered playing music during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
Since then, the singer-songwriter has gone from strength to strength, playing shows and getting to the final of The Voice Kids.
However, last week he missed out on winning the competition at the final stage.
Speaking following his exit, Will said: "It has all been a great experience, right from the beginning the people involved have all been brilliant.
"I have had nothing to complain about, all the coaching, everything behind the scenes, the staff.
"Stuff to build upon my experiences as a musician."
Will's father, Mark Edgar, said: "When Will applied there were apparently about 4-5000 applications. A lot of people apply, a lot of people see the kids walk out on stage, but there are four or five auditions with the researchers and all sorts of people.
"This all started in August-September last year. It's such a long process getting to the end result."
Will added: "It has all been a big year really. In February I performed for the King, then I moved onto doing this for The Voice.
"Hopefully it will lead me to take bigger steps and make this something to live off.
"I am hoping to release a single some time in August, called 'I Love You?'. I have been in the studio sorting out a new track.
"In conjunction with The Voice, we can hopefully get the word about and keep the hype going."
A music video is also being filmed for his new song.
He added: "The amount of support that I have had through the whole process from family to random people I have never met before. After the blind audition I was in Austria and got recognised there!
"Random people coming up to me and saying I did so well."
