If you’re thinking of booking a winter trip, Manchester Airport and easyJet might be able to inspire your next adventure.
easyJet has announced that it will offer a new route to Kittila in Finnish Lapland from the airport this winter.
Whether you’re looking to make Christmas extra special this year or you just want to organise a winter trip, easyJet will start flying to the destination from Manchester Airport for the first time.
easyJet to launch winter flights to Lapland from Manchester Airport
Flights from Manchester Airport to Kittila in Finnish Lapland will take place on Thursday, November 16 and will be available twice a week throughout the Christmas peak winter season on Thursdays and Sundays.
You can book your flights via the easyJet website.
Families will be able to visit Santa’s village and meet Father Christmas and Rudolph.
Kittila is 150km north of Rovaniemi in the northern arctic circle and will also appeal to winter sports lovers, stargazers looking for a glimpse of the Northern Lights and those who wish to explore the snowy alpine forests in the region.
Last year, Manchester Airport added a new route to Rovaniemi in the heartland of Lapland so now visitors have even more choice when booking a winter trip.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager said: “We're delighted to be adding a new route from Manchester to Kittila this winter.
“As an entirely new destination in our network, this new connection means we are able to build on our offering from Manchester for those in search of winter breaks by providing customers more choice to enjoy an even greater range of destinations this winter at fantastic low fares.
“Lapland is perfect especially for families with children looking to visit Father Christmas, winter ski lovers and all those wishing to explore this magical arctic destination.”
Robert Smith, Aviation Director at Manchester Airport, said: “We know a family trip to Lapland is on many of our passengers’ Christmas lists so it’s fantastic to see easyJet launching a service from Manchester to Kittilä this winter.
“This new service demonstrates easyJet’s commitment to providing outstanding choice year-round to passengers flying from Manchester.”
