Police raided a property to discover a large cannabis farm.

An arrest was made after neighbourhood officers executed a warrant at an address in Farnworth.

The raid came after neighbours had reported suspicious activity to the police.

The raid is the latest in a number on properties in Bolton which has resulted in a cannabis farm being dismantled.

Last month, police found a cannabis farm on Lower Rawson Street in Farnworth.

The raid, which took place on June 9, found cannabis plants 'in their infancy' and a bypassed electricity meter at the address.

There was also 'potential for further plants to be grown', according to GMP.

Another cannabis farm was also recently discovered in Breightmet following a house fire

The fire, at a house on Mobberley Road, broke out at 11pm on June 24 and was battled by firefighters until the early hours of the morning.

However, in the aftermath of the fire, police found that there was a cannabis farm hidden in the house's attic.

Police warned afterwards that the 'dangerous practices' involved in cannabis cultivation such as using high powered heat lamps, chemicals and the bypassing of electrical meters, leads to 'significant use' of electricity which can cause fires to break out.
