A new children’s home could be coming to a town in Bolton, according to a new proposal.
The plans, put before Bolton Council last week, will see a house on Hindley Road, Westhoughton transformed into a home for up to four children and two carers.
The company Parallel Parents Residential Services hopes to buy the house for this purpose.
A statement said: “The proposed use is to provide a stable home environment for the children as their main and sole residence and that the length of stay is medium to long term, providing a continuity of care.
“Children would attend mainstream education placements where possible. We do not believe that this would increase the noise level or activity in the area.”
All of the children will be between the ages of seven and 17.
According to the company’s plans, the staff members will work on a shift basis while all the children will share the bathrooms and each child would have their own bedroom.
The statement said: “All bills will be collective and all communal facilities would be shared as they would be living together as a single household where care is provided.”
It added that once the house has been converted it will still maintain the look of a normal property and will not cause any more disturbance or pressure on nearby services than any other household would.
The Hindley Street home is made up of five bedrooms along with a driving parkway and a private garden in the back.

If approved, the scheme will repurpose this to accommodate the youngsters.
Previous schemes like these have been brought before Bolton Council for approval but have provoked a mixed reception from nearby communities as has been the case with recent proposals in Ladybridge, Lostock and in Great Lever.
The council itself does not place young people in housing like this but has responsibility for approving proposals put to its planning department.
The plans for the conversion of the house were put before Bolton Council last week on Wednesday July 12 with a determination deadline having been set for Wednesday September 6 this year.
