Porsche have unveiled a Taycan GTS with artwork featuring Bolton for the 75th anniversary of the car manufacturer.

The sleek electric sports car stood proudly at an event at Media City in Salford, where Porsche revealed what they had been working on with the help of Emily D'Andrea from Lobster House Studio.

A total of 75 classic Porsches were displayed alongside the car to celebrate.

The car was wrapped and then painted live in the Bolton showroom for three days before being finished at the event, where around 5,000 people attended.

Kieran Anderson at Porsche said: “It was a very hot day, and the morning where we had to line up 75 cars was stressful but other than that, it was fantastic.

“We even had a LEGO artist build a LEGO mosaic for Porsche which we will give away to charity soon.

“Porsche as a branch in Bolton is for everyone, I know the cars are expensive but we want everyone to be able to see them - even kids and fans who don’t get to see the cars up close like this.”

The oldest car displayed was from 1954, with the modern concept, all-electric Taycan GTS the star of the show.

Kieran said: “We’re at a point now where most car manufacturers are changing and moving to electrification, so while the day was to celebrate the history of Porsche with cars back to 1954, we wanted to create an art piece on the history on the newest car.

“We have got the whole 75 years reflected on the car where we are today so that’s why we chose the Taycan.”

The Taycan GTS pays homage to Bolton, Stockport and Wilmslow with artwork to reflect each area.

Bolton is written on the car with the street name, Le Mans, beside it to reflect both the place and racing series, 24 hours of Le Mans, at which Porsche holds the most number of wins with 19.
