Police have issued a warning around Astley Bridge citing ‘suspicious circumstances.’

Officers received reports concerning Templecombe Road in the early hours of the morning and advised neighbours to keep doors and cars locked.

Police are asking for any information to be passed onto them as they investigate the reports from the area.

A spokesman for police said: “We have had some reports of suspicious circumstances around Templecombe Road and the neighbouring streets in the Astley Bridge area, early hours of Saturday morning, between 2am and 5am.

“Please could you check any CCTV/ doorbell footage to see if anything has been picked up.

“If anything has been picked up please email me with the footage and information 02615@gmp.police.uk “Please can this also be passed on to any groups you have for your local area.”

Earlier this month, police were in Astley Bridge after complaints from residents that a one-way system on Sweetloves Lane was not being correctly followed.

Police in Bolton have been carrying out a number of roadside enforcement exercises, including running Operation Portman.

The operation was launched to reduce deaths and serious injuries on Bolton's roads.

And a number of the exercises take place on roads raised as a concern by local residents, including at local PACT meetings, which are attended by councillors and police.
