Two men are in hospital with serious injuries after a vehicle they were in hit a tree.
The horror crash, which has left one of the men with life-changing injuries, happened at 9.30pm yesterday in Heaton.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 9.20pm last night (Friday 14 July 2023), officers responded to reports of an RTC (road traffic collision) in Old Kiln Lane, Bolton.
"One man suffered serious, life-changing injuries, and another man suffered serious injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the road.
Fire crews helped release one of the injured from the vehicle.
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said, “At around 9:30pm last night (Friday, 14th July), firefighters were called to reports of a crash on Old Kiln Lane in Bolton.
“Two fire engines from Bolton fire station, as well as two technical response units from Leigh fire station, quickly attended the scene which involved a vehicle that had hit a tree.
“One man had self-rescued prior to crews arriving, and firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment and lighting equipment to extricate another man from the vehicle. Both casualties were transferred to the care of the North West Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.
“Crews were at the scene for around an hour and a half.”
