The family of an inspirational Bolton girl with one of the rarest disorders in the country are holding out hope she can achieve her Paralympian dreams.

Isabelle Hibbert suffers life threatening epilepsy, autism and has two rare chromosome disorders as well as ADHD.

This means Isabelle is non-verbal and has learning difficulties, but this has never stopped the young teenager from running – something she is talented at.

Dubbed a ‘future Paralympian’ by her mum, Toni Hibbert, Isabelle has collected numerous running medals over the years, completed Iron Kids and won Bolton Council’s disabled achiever of the year.

Toni said: “Isabelle loves running.

“When she started walking, she just took off and was running everywhere.

“I knew academically she was not going to succeed so I got her into running and always dream she’ll become a Paralympian.

"She can’t talk but when you let her run, she is just free from everything and is in her own world, she’s happy.”

But Isabelle’s inspirational running is starting to slow down.

Toni said: “But now she seems more tired and a little unsteady on her feet.

“Her personality comes from her mobility, and it frustrates her to not be able to do it the same way.

“Isabelle looks down at her feet as if she is wondering why her feet are not working properly.”

Inspirational and potential Bolton paralympian Isabelle still finished the Iron Kids race and now, her mum is fundraising to take her to Disneyland so she can meet her famous hero – Mickey Mouse.

Toni said: “We are going to go in September, but I want to give her good experiences while there, like meeting Mickey Mouse because she loves him so much, she watches Mickey every single day. Maybe she can have dinner with the characters."

Toni still believes Isabelle can achieve the Paralympian dream.

She said: “She has mobility issues, but I still dream she can do it.

“She is good at swimming too and seems to love it.

“Isabelle is most happy when active, she just takes to it like nothing else and I want her to be able to do it because it’s beautiful to watch.”

Toni is fundraising by donating Isabelle's long hair to The Princess Trust, a charity supporting young people with cancer.
