In just a few hours Ironman UK will draw to a close in Bolton for another year.
The atmosphere is still buzzing in Victoria Square as athletes are cheered over the finishing line as the complete the the last leg of their Ironman journey.

Ironman UK is one of Bolton's biggest events, starting with a swim at the crack of dawn in Pennington Flash and ending with a marathon in Victoria Square.

It attracts competitors from around 30 different countries to Bolton.

First finisher across the line beneath the famous Ironman gantry in Bolton was Tom Rigby, who tells the crowd it's a dream come true - and was looking forward to going to the pub
He finished in 9 hours 38 minutes with a sub-three hour marathon into the bargain.

Coming first for the ladies was Erica Booth from Chorley, who completed the event in 11:07:07.
