Forget Keir Starmer’s attempts at making Labour the “party of home ownership”, home ownership is the bricks and mortar of the Conservative Party.  And I want to help make the dream of owning a house come true. 

This month, I’ve been supporting residents with Local Search complaints, a requirement when buying property or piece of land, to uncover essential information which helps to protect the buyer.  

Bolton Council’s Local Search’s are currently taking four months on average, causing unnecessary stress for house-buyers. 

Residents have reason to be frustrated, especially when similar searches take around two weeks to complete in neighbouring towns. I am liaising with the council to support individual cases, please do get in contact if you need any assistance.  

This government is also helping aspiring homeowners, with the new homes scheme. Giving first-time buyers the opportunity to purchase a home up to 50 per cent less than its market value. 

For current homeowners, the Chancellor has recently announced a raft of new measures to help mortgage holders during the cost-of-living increases.

Supporting those who are at risk of losing their homes because of falling behind in their mortgage payments, as well as those who are having to change their mortgage because their fixed rate has come to an end.  

The government is continuing to ramp up measures on housing, which is helping many of you achieve your dreams of getting onto the housing ladder. And with new affordable housing plans forming part of Bolton’s town centre regeneration, our borough is set to be a more vibrant market town, providing a welcoming environment for people to enjoy work and family time.
