A 43-year-old man from Bolton died after a fractured ankle caused further medical problems, an inquest has heard.
Varish Natwarlal Faldu was found dead at his home on Lovat Road in Breightmet on June 9 this year.
An inquest into his death took place at Bolton Coroners Court on Monday.
The hearing was told he had limited mobility as he had recently suffered a fractured ankle.
He had been taking medication for the injury in the build up to his death but had stopped.
A postmortem examination took place at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
The cause of death was given as a pulmonory embolism (when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel in the lungs) caused by a deep vein thrombosis with an underlying cause of a fractured right ankle.
There were no suspicious circumstances into his death.
Coroner Peter Siggee ordered that a full inquest should take place in November this year.
He asked the police coroners officer to find out the details of how Mr Faldu came to suffer a fractured ankle, which hospital dealt with it and to obtain a report from his GP.
