Police have moved to deal with reports of off-road bikers on Bolton playing fields.
Bikers had allegedly been seen riding off road around the New House Farm playing fields area in Breightmet over the course of the weekend.
Officers were dispatched to the scene and say this comes as part of an ongoing effort to tackle the illegal use of bicycles not just in Breightmet but all around the borough.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers from Bolton North Neighbourhood Team Two have just responded to a report of off-road bikes on New House Farm Playing Fields in Breightmet.
“We will continue to target the illegal use of off-road bikes.”
An image supplied by GMP shows officers inspecting the Breightmet playing field but no sign of bikers who may have been riding nearby.
Off road bikers have also been reported at various other locations across Bolton over recent months.
Anyone with any information or further concerns about crime or anti-social behavior more broadly has been urged to contact police on 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency as soon as it is safe to do so.
Alternatively, witnesses can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
