Lights, camera, action!
That can only mean one thing, cameras are rolling into Bolton town centre again.
And this time filming is underway for a new television series Sleepover for ITV.
Production crews are currently in Le Mans Crescent as fiming gets underway for this little known drama.
The Bolton News understands the series will follow a group of reporters in and out of an office, chasing and investigating a story.
Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, Cllr Nadeem Ayub, said: “Once again, Bolton is hosting a film crew and showing off our town centre to a national and international audience.
“Filming is a major part of Bolton’s cultural offer, not only bringing money into our economy but inspiring local people to consider a career in the creative industries.
“Bolton has a growing reputation as an excellent film location thanks to our historic architecture, stunning countryside, friendly locals and a council that is easy to work with.”
Parking has been suspended on the Crescent as crews parked up with trucks and vans.
This is not the first time a TV series or a film has filmed at the location, as Bolton has become a hotspot for filming crews.
Other famous shows filmed here include Peaky Blinders, It’s A Sin, Netflix’s famous Red Rose, The Ipcress File, Coronation Street, and The Stranger to name a few.
Fans of Peaky Blinders came to Le Mans Crescent to spot actor Cillian Murphy, who plays Tommy Shelby.
Many episodes of the show were filmed in Bolton, with fans coming to Le Mans Crescent to spot Cillian Murphy when he was in town.
Hollywood A-lister Ewan McGregor was seen walking in ‘snow’ in Bolton outside the town hall filming for A Gentleman in Moscow, based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Amor Towles.
The show was shown on Paramount+ and tracks aristocrat Alexander Rostov after he is spared execution, but sent to the Hotel Metropol under house arrest.
Disney+ series The Full Monty also filmed in Victoria Square in August last year.
