National Careers Service – we’re here for you!

And this is what the service has to say:

"You’ve probably heard of the National Careers Service – but did you know that you don’t have to be unemployed to enjoy the FREE support on offer?

We provide advice and guidance, whatever stage of your career path you are on.

Yes, we help when you’re searching for your first job, but we can also support you in so many other ways too:

Perhaps you’ve been in the same role for a while and are looking for a change of direction? Maybe you’re facing the prospect of redundancy and need someone to talk to about future plans. It could be that you want to explore ways of increasing your knowledge-base or evaluating your transferable skills.

If you’re an employer looking to fill vacant positions, we can even offer mock interviews for your prospective candidates, to give them an opportunity to experience interview conditions and receive feedback on how they perform, before they do it for real!

All our support is tailored to the individual’s own circumstances. We are so much more than a CV writing service.

And we don’t sit behind a desk in an office, we get out and about in the community; you’ll find us in libraries, in community centres, at your college or place of work and at jobs fairs.

Our website includes lots of information including online skills health-checks and guidance on things like how parents, guardians and carers can support younger people, or suggestions for taking your next steps after receiving your exam results.

Pay us an online visit at nationalcareers.service.gov.uk or give us a call on 0800 100 900.

Better still, come and chat to us when you see us at The Bolton News Jobs Fair – we’ll be the ones in the pink t-shirts!

We’ll take time to talk you through all your options, and we won’t rush you. Whether you need help making decisions on learning, training or work, we’re here for you!"

Bolton Jobs Fair takes place at Bolton Arena on Thursday, June 29 from 10am to 4pm.
