The army are showcasing careers at The Bolton News Careers Fair on Thursday 29th June 10am – 4.30pm at Bolton Arena Sports Village, Arena Approach, Horwich, Bolton, BL6 6LB.
Serving soldiers will be there to answer any questions about life in the Army
Visitors can get up close with the most up to date with army kit and equipment
The British Army supports people in achieving their personal and professional goals, whether it’s conquering a pull up or taking on a leadership role.
The army is recruiting and there is a breadth of roles and opportunities available in both the regular army and Army Reserve.
They cab take part in adventure training and gain further qualifications such as an apprenticeship or a degree.
As part of life in the British Army, lifelong friendship bonds are formed and incredible challenges are overcome to achieve worthwhile results.

Did you know, with a career in the Army you will get:
- An annual salary over £21,000 after training plus pension as a Soldier, and over £34,500 after training plus pension as an Officer.
- 30 days annual holiday as well as the usual bank holidays, and when you deploy on operations you’ll get extra time off.
- Opportunities to travel overseas for operations, adventurous training, sport and peacekeeping.
- Access to free gym and sports facilities
- Medical procedures or dental work that you require is paid for by the Army and is carried out by fully qualified Army personnel, or private practices where necessary.

As a Soldier you will be:
• Trained as an apprentice with 40 different schemes, from engineering to animal care.
• Offered over 500 different qualifications, including professional and practical qualifications that will build up your CV.
