A salon owner in Bromley Cross has aired her frustrations after waste from bins had been dumped outside her salon.

Nina Riley, 40, owner of Individual Beauty Salon on Darwen Road, said she had been left feeling ‘sick and disgusted’ after she found two grey bins knocked over outside her salon, leaving waste all over the pavement.

She said she contacted the council on Monday, June 12 for them to remove the waste, they stated they would be out within 24 hours, but the waste was still there on Friday June 16.

Nina said: “There has been two grey bins outside two flats on Darwen Road next to my salon and there hasn’t been anyone in the bottom flat for months. These two grey bins have been outside there for at least six months.

“They have obviously been left because they have a mixture of rubbish in them and I don’t know if they have been deliberately pushed over."

She said the rubbish was strewn outside her salon, including rubbish, beer bottle,.

Nina said it was "just filthy".

She said: “I spoke to Bolton Council on Monday morning, and they said gosh yes that’s terrible we will get someone out within 24 hours because of the glass and it being unhygienic and dangerous.

“And they didn’t, they didn’t send anybody out so I called them again on Wednesday and they said the same thing, we will be out within 24 hours.

“ I did not want everyone walking past thinking it is mine, which obviously it is not.

“I just want something done about it.

"God knows how long that rubbish has been there."

She said the rubbish made her feel "sick and disgusted"

Nina said:"It looks like I don’t care about my salon, and I absolutely do.

“It was bin day and they still left it, they haven’t thought I’ll pick this up, they have just left it.”

The council stated they did send someone out to the road on Friday June 16.

However, according to Nina, the rubbish was picked up and put back in the bins and taken round the corner and wasn’t removed.

She said: “The bins have been left and they haven’t been moved, whoever has done it has picked all the rubbish up put it back in the bin and put it around the corner where the shops and houses are."

“The rubbish that has been in the bin for months still hasn’t been moved.”

According to the council, the team confirmed they removed the rubbish and two bins from that area on Friday and if there are more bins that need taking away, they will go back and get those too.
