Pond and river dipping sessions being held at a breath-taking nature reserve in Bolton.

It will offer those in the community the chance to enjoy all of what nature has to offer where they can take note of the different species spotted.

Pond dipping involves capturing an array of different creatures that may be living in the area

The first of sessions will be held on June 24 and July 1 from 10am-12pm.

These will take place on Seven Acres Nature Reserve, with the meeting point in the Wildlife Trust car park.

The Halliwell Environmental Ramblers Association have decided to start early this year in order to record species, due to the noticeable reduction in flying insects.

A lot of the insects spend the main part of their life in the rivers and ponds.

For more information message the official ramblers Facebook page to book.

There will also be more sessions up to mid-August.
