A Bolton school invited special guests to its site to celebrate the sporting achievements of the children.
Heathfield Primary School hosted their 2023 sportsperson dinner on Thursday, June 15.
Guests included Jack Lighbown, a former Heathfield pupil, who is now playing for the Sale Sharks academy and Bolton Olympic athlete, Tom Lancashire, who represented GB in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Both speakers talked about the dedication, discipline and resilience required to be a professional sportsperson.
The mayor of Bolton provided the closing remarks.

Headteacher Mr. Thornley said: “PE and sport is an important part of the Heathfield curriculum to ensure children are physically and mentally healthy.
"Alongside the physical benefits of taking part in physical activity, it provides opportunities for children to develop their character – or their Heathfield Heart, as we call it.
“Children learn to play as team, learn to communicate effectively, problem solve and strategise, develop leadership skills and sportsmanship and children feel happy and fulfilled when playing sports.”
The children and adults all made a special effort, wearing formal dress to attend the prestigious event.
The dinner was also an opportunity to thank the parents and carers within the "Heathfield family" for all of their support.
During the week, students took part in a range of sporting events including a climbing wall, sports day and a quidditch event.
