Give us some history about the pub:
Once upon a time it was known as Zorba’s chippy, it then became Tap & Cork. We bought it in lockdown, and refurbished it. Upstairs didn’t exist so we put the staircase in, created a 50 capacity space up there. Loads of room out the back not being used so we made female and male toilets and only ever had one unisex toilet before. We ran the bar as the Tap & Cork until January this year when we did some more work and renamed it The Loft, brought in a pool table and food
Is food served? If so what’s on the menu?
Yes, we now serve the perfect bar food. Loaded fries, loaded Nachos, paninis, toasties
Is there a beer garden?
No garden , but we have two benches out the front which our customers enjoy as its a great sun trap
Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?
We don’t have any teams as yet, but we are looking for a pool team
Most popular drink served is:
Our mix and match cocktails always go down a treat. We also have a great selection of beers, ciders and cask ales
Most memorable moment at the pub:
Seeing all the talent that our open mic nights bring
Do you have an entertainment line-up?
We have Open mic night on the first Thursday of every month.
Have you faced any challenges within the industry?
Price increases, restrictions, cost of living crisis – we know we aren’t alone
The best thing about running a pub is...
Meeting new people, great loyal locals and you never know what the night can bring
The worst thing about running a pub is...
You don’t get time to enjoy a nice cold beer in your own bar
The perfect hangover cure is...
Hair of the dog and a chicken tikka panini
