A crash has been reported on a busy Bolton road this evening which is believed to have left a car “completely written off”.

A car is reported to have crashed near the traffic lights on Beaumont Road, near Wigan Road, this evening, Tuesday, June 13.

The crash is believed to have happened at around 5.45pm and Greater Manchester Police officers were called to the scene.

One motorist, who witnessed the crash, called the emergency services.

He said: “It looked as though all control of the car was lost whilst driving towards the Ladybridge area and then it went straight into a barrier. 

“I pulled over and went to check if the driver was okay and they didn’t appear to have any injuries or cuts.

“The car is a complete write-off.”

There have been reports that part of the road was closed off and Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information and a comment.
