Talented young singers from Bolton took to the stage on Monday for the opening night of the Schools’ Music Festival.
The five-day long festival at the Victoria Hall hit the right note with impressive performances from schools from around the borough.
Now in its 53rd year, the annual festival will showcase the musical talents of children and young people from 55 schools across Bolton who will perform alongside each other and with ensembles from Bolton Music Service.
The Schools' Music Festival is organised by Bolton Music Service on behalf of Trust Music Charity which works to provide a music education to children regardless of their financial background.

For its first 50 years it was organised by the Schools Music Association.
Deputy Head of Bolton Music Service, Angela Ball said the event is a great way to give every child the opportunity to sing on stage.
She said: “This week we’ve got 55 primary schools and special schools from across Bolton.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to get the children to sing with a live band, they have put a lot of effort in over the last few months.
“Singing is a really important thing for young people and having the opportunity to come together to sing like this is something extremely memorable for young people.”
Monday's sell-out performance included songs from St Peter and St Paul’s R.CC Primary School, St Michael’s C.E Primary School, Sunning Hill Primary School, SS. Osmund and Andrew’s Primary School, Moorgate Primary School, The Valley Community Primary School, Chorley New Road Primary School, St Mary’s R.C Primary School, Horwich, Spindle Point Primary School, and Eagley Infant School.
