Megastar P!NK helped put Bolton on the international map as she kicked off her world tour in the town.
The rock star played two nights at the University of Bolton Stadium in front of a sell out audience.
“It really made me feel proud to be a Boltonian” said Cllr Andy Morgan, who attended the first night.
Tens of thousands of people flocked to the borough over for the Summer Carnival Tour.
And there is still a huge buzz in the air.
Cllr Morgan who said the concerts have helped to put ‘Bolton’s profile back on the map again’.
He said: “When you are in the stadium, and you look out across the whole audience you could see it was packed full of people having fun and being happy.
“And sitting there in the fantastic stadium it really made me feel proud to be a Boltonian.
“On an economic point of view concerts like this bring money into the town which is obviously a massive benefit to everyone and for business and it also puts Bolton’s profile back on the map again.
“Every time we have an event like this, or the football team does well it puts Bolton on the map and that’s what we need to attract investment and everything else we try to do for the town.
“The University of Bolton Stadium is such an intimate stadium and when you get to somewhere like Etihad with 50,000 people in there, you lose that intimacy, whereas in Bolton everybody felt part of it.
“Especially when P!NK is flying over the stadium, it is a more personal stadium, P!NK performs a show.”
Cllr Morgan also addressed the delays people were facing trying to exit the stadium, stating delays are to be expected when attending concerts due to the number of fans.
He said: “We were coming back from Chorley and unfortunately, we hit the traffic, but I was getting quite a lot of messages saying leaving the stadium was a lot better, a lot more organised and people weren’t trapped on there for two hours.
“But the main traffic points like the roundabouts and the traffic lights it was pretty much the same; gridlocked.
“It was certainly an improvement from night one but that’s the negative that doesn’t outweigh the positives of people coming to our town.
“I was in Manchester last week to watch Coldplay and it was the exact same, it was gridlocked, but there’s nothing you can do when there is that amount of people attending gigs.
“We, the local authority and the stadium tried to work through the best we can with the resources we have got and every time we have an event like this, we learn so hopefully it will get better.”
People taking to social media said they found it easier to leave - although there were still a few complaints about the traffic situation, with organisers predicting it could take drivers up to two hours in delays.
One said: "Seemed much better tonight we were back to car and back home to Preston by 12:30. Was expecting a 2am time after reading last night's report."
Another said: "This is an issue near every stadium around the country when events are on unfortunately people will have to grin and bare it. PINK was absolutely amazing and worth the traffic."
