A Bolton man has escaped a ban from the roads due to the "exceptional hardship" which this would cause others.
Usamah Rawat was asked by police to identify the driver of a Mercedes in Arnold, Nottingham.
The driver was alleged to have been involved in an offence.
The 34-year-old failed to name the motorist.
He admitted the offence when the case called at Nottingham Magistrates Court this month.
Rawat, of Range Street, Bolton, escaped a ban from the roads through a totting up disqualification.
The court found there were mitigating circumstances.
These included the impact it would have on employees and family life.
He was fined £600 and ordered to pay further costs of £330.
Rawat was given six points on his licence.
The court took his guilty plea into account when determining the sentence which it would impose.
