Children’s play equipment in a park that was vandalised weeks ago still remains damaged.
In March, slides and a roundabout at Farnworth Central Park were deliberately set on fire.
And residents in the area said that it was one of many fires that happened in the play area.
Cllr Nadeem Ayub says that it is something that he is looking into and says it will be fixed as soon as possible.
He said: “I am aware that the vandalism took place a month ago and it still needs repairing.

“I have just chased up Bolton Council.
“We will get it fixed as soon as possible so children can enjoy it.
“We want recreational activities for young children so they can play in the park, especially with the weather”.
Cllr Ayub said that it was a "huge shame" because a lot of children in the area use it quite a lot.
Fellow Cllr Sue Haworth said: “There is understandable fury about vandalism of the children's play area at Farnworth Park.
“In other parts of the park there has been damage and burning going on at times.
“People are blaming parenting.
“I accept that it is bizarre when we have good youth services and also services that support parents just a walk away from this area in the town centre.
“Despite this, in our society, we know we have to deal with offenders.”
Cllr Haworth also said that some residents have called for CCTV at the park to deter vandalism and protect the park.
Another concern for residents has also been off road bikes that have also torn up parts of the park.
Cllr Haworth said: “People see them on the grass and then they get driven out of the park on the entrance at Market Street.
“At the recent Police and Communities Together meeting everyone was pleased to hear about the ongoing police work to tackle the off-road bikes and how residents can best report intelligence about bikes to the police.”
Residents previously said that they witnessed young people dragging wheelie bins into the park and setting them on fire.
